About Big Dawg Runnin'
After high school, I attended Florida State University, in Tallahassee, FL. Running was still a vital part of my life and I competed on the cross country and track and field teams. I thought about going into sports psychology but I also enjoyed teaching and coaching. After college, I began working in the Pasco County School District as a Technology teacher, Athletic Director as well as a Coach with my husband for the cross country and track teams.
The two things that I knew and loved were technology and running, I had to figure out how to combine the two. My supporting husband and I launched Big Dawg Runnin' Inc. in May of 2010 and launched a few road races in Pasco County.
The next venture was Big Dawg Runnin' & TIming Inc., established in 2011. I had finally figured out how to do what I love, combining technology and running.
When you do what you love, it shows in your work. At Big Dawg Runnin' Inc. we do what we love. We are the sort of company that will personally meet with you to discuss non-timing related issues. I have been known to even run the race course myself to make sure the distance is accurate and to provide advice. When we manage courses, I inspect the course a week before the race, not the day of the race, because as a runner I know how important it is to have a properly marked and measured course. As a runner I also know how important it is to have accurate timing and results that are posted promptly.
When you do business with Big Dawg Runnin' Inc., you’re not just hiring a race timer, you’re hiring a company that wants your race to thrive. The one downside of owning a timing company is that it makes finding time to actually race a lot harder. Fortunately, I still found time to run a 1:35:40 at the Rock and Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon in 2011.
